ABOUT

Working as a patinist and finisher at the prestigious Polich-Tallix art foundry from 2006-2008, David developed the capability to produce a vast spectrum of patinas and finishes, rich in both color and depth.  During his time at Polich-Tallix, David’s extensive field experience restoring indoor/outdoor sculpture honed his expertise in the art of object conservation.  Earning his Mfa in visual arts from Stony Brook University in 2011, David’s artistic practice informed and expanded his restoration skill sets beyond the medium of metal, delving into plastics and other modern materials.   The combination of these invaluable life experiences provided David with the necessary hands-on knowledge of sculpture to launch his own restoration company, David Irving Studio.
